The Southwest can be classified by many musical distinctions; from wavy synth tracks, to lo-fi hip hop beats, to black metal, to wild gangsta trap, the region has a lot to offer.
For the local music lovers, that means they can find their style and support the culture without major commitments. Unfortunately, the city of Las Cruces has a limited amount of performance spaces, forcing Las Cruces bands & music junkies to make the trip to El Paso or Albuquerque if they want to see anything other than Garth Brooks at the Pan-Am Center.
That’s where The Range comes in. The hometown venue had its first show on May 4th 2019, and has continued to have a steady stream of shows almost every weekend since. The Range is a true performance space; with standing room for an audience of 300, the venue is totally dedicated to music and live-shows. There’s no bar or fancy gimmicks, it’s completely dedicated to shows.
That’s one of the reasons cofounder of The Range, Logan Sage, started the business. At 18 years old, and as a huge fan of the local music scene, Logan was severely limited on the shows he and his friends could see in town. Too young to enter bars, and too old to be bothered with constant road trips every weekend, he decided to open The Range to support smaller bands (not just local) and to support the Las Cruces Music scene!
The Range is more than just a venue, Logan wanted to create, “A paradise for bands & the audience” Cofounder Joshua Tellez is the director of operations for audio recording, running a full-service recording studio as well as a stage for live sessions. Bands can come here to work on any project they might have and to add to their portfolio! Joshua does full service mixing and mastering for audio, as well as video editing, providing a one-stop shop for recording artists in Las Cruces!
